BoatSheen UltraGlaze
BoatSheen UltraGlaze provides a protective sheen that improves the appearance of a boat just like a good quality wax. The difference is that UltraGlaze is tougher and much more durable.
- Builds a long-lasting sheen – typically 3 years
- Makes cleaning easier by shrugging off water, dirt and bird droppings
- Eliminates the need for regular waxing
- Reduces the fading effect of UV radiation
- Provides long-term protection from harmful pollutants
UltraGlaze can be used on GRP, new or old, and works well on all modern paint finishes. It is used just like a conventional wax and requires no special tools or training. Just wipe on and buff up to a shine, either by hand or with a polishing machine.
The sheen will last for several seasons, but the UV protection gradually declines, so we suggest a top-up application each year. Best results are obtained if contaminations of dirt, oxidised gel coat or previous wax treatments are removed before application. BoatSheen Glaze Prep is designed for this purpose.
You can order UltraGlaze as separate components or as complete package deal kits.

Maintenance
Once applied, maintenance consists of simply hosing down the surface to remove dirt deposits. The glaze will last for several seasons, but the effectiveness of the UV protection gradually declines, so we recommend a top-up application of glaze each year. To clean up localised areas, use Polywash and Guard, which will also top up the glaze.
Polywash and Guard
Polywash and Guard can be used to top up the glaze and clean off spots and deposits without water. It contains emulsifiers and detergents that lift off the deposit without scratching. Just spray on, and wipe off. Supplied with a spray top (not illustrated).

Notes
Repairs to damaged areas – remove the glaze by compounding prior to repair. Then re-glaze to protect the repaired area.
Refurbishing an old boat – The BoatSheen UltraGlaze system is capable of restoring colour and shine to really dull surfaces and is strongly recommended in preference to painting. Glaze Prep will restore gel coat even when quite chalky, but where the surface is badly eroded or scratched we suggest an initial treatement with Clean Cut Compound. Please see our Preparation page.
As with other finishing processes, the quality of the final result reflects the care taken in preparation.
